Giovanni Lanni was born in Montreal, Quebec and has resided there for most of his life. He received a bachelor of arts in 2015, from Concordia University, majoring in Fine Arts photography. Giovanni has spent the past several years traveling and using his camera as a tool for discovery. His has travelled to Africa and throughout Europe working on various projects. As an artist, Giovanni is inspired by people as well as landscapes. He approaches his fine art subjects with a documentary style.

I have ten years of experience in film and photography, including the operation of professional camera and video equipment and post-production techniques. I have recently spent the past year working for Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol’s studio in Denmark. During this time I worked in the studio editing images as well as printing and creating book dummies. Aside from this I also travelled throughout Europe as a part of Jacob’s team as we took part in various exhibitions with Magnum and Leica in countries such as Italy (Milan), Poland (Warsaw) and Denmark (Copenhagen,Svendborg).
