Artist Statement

Portraiture allows me to express each character, emotion and personality. I mainly use self-portrait to create complex narratives related to contemporary society. Plants, animals and objects have their own symbolic meanings. It is something so close to us that we do not even recognize them.

My family is from Fujian. I am influenced by traditional Chinese culture in Hong Kong. My goal, as an artist, is to create a piece that speaks my feminine voice in Hong Kong culture. It reflects the most important history of Fujian, as well as Hong Kong.
